‘RoRo’ gripper

The Roll-on Roll-off gripper is a product gripping solution that uses the crafty trick of an air filled toroid to pick up and place fragile or sticky irregular shaped objects.

The inside and outside surfaces of the toroid are manipulated separately so that the end can be made to ‘suck’ objects in whilst holding them with a low and even pressure.
This technique of manipulating the surfaces of the toroid has been patented.

Applications range from large scale versions to assist robotic manipulation of food products (to small hand held devices to aid arthritics or sufferers from Parkinsons disease.
